MUMBAI: Commercial vehicles-maker, Asia MotorWorks (AMW), plans to more than double its production from 700 to 2,000 trucks per month in the next eight to nine months, a top company official said.
The truck-maker also plans to hire 500 professionals to meet the production challenges.
"We aim to double our production from 700 to 2,000 trucks per month in the next eight to nine months. We also plan to hire more than 500 personnel to meet the production challenges in the next nine-months," Asia MotorWorks' managing director & chief executive officer Anirudh Bhuwalka said.
AMW is the third-largest truck manufacturer in production capacity after Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland and currently employs 1,000 personnel.
"The company is gearing up to ramp-up its production capacity as the Government steps up investment in infrastructure," Bhuwalka said.
The company has set up an integrated modern plant at Bhuj in Gujarat at an investment of Rs 1,500 crore which manufactures medium and heavy commercial vehicles.
